Keeping Your Kids in their Car Seats
When you are driving, the road will always pose various dangers for you and your family. Some of the most hazardous of these risks are directed at your children. This is due to the fact that most if not all kids have the tendency to become mischievous, especially if they feel uncomfortable or they dislike cramped places. Whenever they move too much, they will not only endanger themselves, but they can also distract the one driving, potentially leading to accidents. With this in mind, if you are going to drive without anyone to help you supervise your toddlers, these tips on how to keep them in their seats might help.
First, as mentioned earlier, the main reason that may contribute to children's bad behaviour in a car is discomfort. For this, make sure that you install the right size of seats on your car and have your conditioning systems regularly maintained. Also, as much as possible, be sure to avoid putting too much luggage beside them. Second, always see to it that they are buckled up properly. If they dislike seatbelts, then give them the responsibility of monitoring everyone's buckle status. With this feeling of authority to boss others around, they will become more mindful of keeping their own on.
Lastly, if you are having a hard time enforcing your rules, then you can turn off all the entertainment systems such as car stereos and DVD players as a form of punishment. On the other hand, you can reward them with gifts, toys, and treats whenever they follow the rules. However, if you do not have a luxurious budget, then you can try a little bribery every once in a while. For example, offer them something they really want in exchange of a week or a month of following your rules.
